Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information used to run ImgUnmark, where image processing takes place, and how temporary files differ from account records.

Last updated

1. Information used by the service

  • Account information: your Google account identifier, verified email address and name are used to create and identify your ImgUnmark account. Google supplies profile information during sign-in.
  • Editing information: uploaded images, selection masks or document-editing instructions, generated results, task references, timestamps and repair status.
  • Credit and order information: your balance, credit changes, repair reservations, purchase references and payment confirmation events.
  • Technical information: requests to the service necessarily include network and browser information. Hosting services may retain operational and security logs.

2. Why this information is used

ImgUnmark uses this information to sign you in, keep your tasks separate from other accounts, process repairs, deliver downloads, manage credits, confirm payments and handle service errors. Your account identifier also helps prevent repeated welcome-credit grants and duplicate repair charges.

First-party browser and tab identifiers help us understand page visits, sign-in actions, image selection, repair clicks, comparisons, purchase clicks and download starts. Events include the page path, referring hostname, language, device category and, when signed in, your account identifier and email. We do not include image contents, filenames, URL query strings or passwords in behavior events. Behavior and AI diagnostics are visible only to administrators. They are retained for up to 30 days, with a rolling limit of 5,000 behavior events and 1,000 AI tasks; older records are removed during subsequent writes. You can disable browser storage to prevent browser behavior collection; this may also affect sign-in.

3. Where your images are processed

  • AI image and document-image repair: source images and, where applicable, selection masks are uploaded through our server into private Cradler storage. Images and editing instructions are sent to APIMODELS to run the repair. APIMODELS may use upstream model providers.
  • GIF repair: the animation and selection are uploaded for processing on our server and temporary private storage. This mode does not call the AI image provider.
  • Quick repair: when available, the selected still-image repair runs in your browser. This does not remove the account and credit checks required to use the service.

Avoid uploading unnecessary personal or confidential information. The APIMODELS Privacy Policy explains its own processing and retention. Its current policy describes 30-day deletion for uploaded files and generated media, separate shorter retention for media fetched from supplied links, and longer retention for API call records. ImgUnmark’s temporary download limit does not delete provider records.

4. Storage and retention

Server-side repair access expires after 30 minutes. Temporary files are scheduled for removal by a daily cleanup, so expiry of a repair link is not immediate deletion of its stored files. Save completed results to your own device promptly.

Account, credit ledger, order and repair-operation records are separate from temporary image files. They are not removed by image cleanup and currently have no automatic deletion schedule. Payment providers and hosting services apply their own retention practices.

5. Service providers and payments

Google handles sign-in, Cradler provides account and temporary image storage, APIMODELS provides AI repair, and our hosting infrastructure delivers the site and API. When checkout is enabled, Stripe processes payments; ImgUnmark records purchase and confirmation references rather than full card numbers. These services can process data in countries other than your own.

6. Cookies and browser storage

ImgUnmark uses cookies for sign-in, session security and request ownership. The editor also holds your current image and editing state in browser memory. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or access to your tasks. Signing out or clearing cookies does not delete account or billing records.

7. Your choices and requests

You can choose not to upload an image, sign out, and keep a copy of your results. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or restrict certain processing. There is currently no self-service account deletion tool or online privacy-request submission on this site; Contact & Help explains the available help options. Do not upload sensitive information you are not comfortable sending to the processors described above.

8. Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to our public website. It receives page paths, page titles, referring page information without query strings, and standard browser and device information. Google Analytics uses browser cookies to distinguish visits. We do not send uploaded images, filenames, account emails, payment details or URL query strings to Google Analytics. Enhanced measurement, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Our admin pages and marked test visits are excluded.

Google processes this information under its Privacy Policy. You can block Google Analytics using browser privacy controls or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Microsoft Clarity

When enabled on our production website, Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings to help us understand clicks, scrolling and navigation. Microsoft receives page and browser information and interaction events such as image selection, repair clicks, comparisons and download starts. We mark the editing workspace and account controls for masking and do not send account identities, filenames or image content as custom events. Local previews, admin pages and marked test visits are excluded. Our integration denies analytics and advertising cookie storage, so Clarity operates without persistent cookie-based session identity. You can block Clarity with browser privacy controls. Microsoft describes its processing in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

9. Policy updates

We may revise this policy when the service or its data handling changes. The date on this page identifies this version. Our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy provide the related service rules.
